See my vest, See my vest, made from real gorilla chest!

Okay, so it's not really, but any Simpson fan has to agree that's it's a fitting quote!, The vest is really made from fine marino wool, cashmere and some acrylic fibers (Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmarino) , which is good, because that makes it more resistant to washing. Washing this vest will be important because it's made for my BIL and SIL Matt'n Dixee's baby boy that's arriving next month. This pattern was from Natural Knits for Moms and Babies made in a six month size. I LOVE how this came out, sort of like a little bee hive and it's super soft. Thank you Theresa from Country Yarns for all your endless help on this and thank you Angela for offering to finish it for me when I wanted to throw it under my car after having to restart it, or frog it for the third or seventeenth time. Lo' and behold, I did finish it on my own, and blocked it just in time for the baby shower. Whew! I got her a little white button down shirt in white with blue and tan stripes, some kacky pants, and some sort of undershirt to go with this little vest. Angela made him a little stemmed hat in a blue to match the shirt and got him a pair of matching "Baby Legs" which are leg warmers for babies. I'm loving seeing this new product on Liam and Abigale. They are adorable and I see why the need is there. When babies are crawling around or being held, their pant legs ride up exposing their chubby legs to the cold. This stylishly solves that problem. I got a pair for our baby to be ( ours is in white with little blue and green skulls on it, hehe) I've also heard that it helps to pad their little knees from crawling too, so why not multipurpose? :)
Dixee, your baby shower was a lot of fun and it was great to see everyone and get to laugh a bit with our families. You got a LOT of great stuff and I got a lot of ideas from it, hehe! I'm so excited to meet this little guy, I don't think I can wait.

On other notes, I'm nesting here at home. Jordan has painted our laundry room as we got a new washer and dryer and this week we're getting new flooring installed in our kitchen and laundry, so the paint job will really finish things up nicely. I'm not totally sold on the color for the walls, but we shall see. Now see, that thought scares Jordo as he's the one having to paint and he'd have to move that washer and dryer again if the paint doesn't actually end up pleasing his wiferoo. I'm hoping that it will appear to lighten up once our decor is setup again and the flooring is installed. Once that's done, a new fridge will finish up the look in the kitchen and he'll be happy. If we could afford to fix the fireplace and install an electric if anything just for aesthetics, well, that'd be cool for me. In this house, aesthetics can definitly wait though. There's just too much to do before looking at spending a grand on the fireplace alone! I don't even want to know how much it is to repair a fireplace, but I would love to have that taken care of. One thing at a time, one thing at a time.

So, what am I doing with my time? Well, two weeks ago, Jordan and I shot another wedding so I've been post-processing the photos. So I've been here at the computer most of my days, heading out for occasional knitting and my water aerobics class which feels more like playing like a kid in the summertime pool instead of work. I try to get in a bit of warm up swimming laps beforehand just to appease that part of me that finds water aerobics hard to be considered a hearty workout.

Things about this pregnancy so far since I'm 14 weeks!
-Loved, LOVED LOOOOVED coffee, now don't want it, could care less about it, been like this for weeks. Same went for Splenda. And hey, my blood pressure went way down too!
-Craved anything with vinegar like adobo or pickles, Cheetos, hot cocoa, chocolate, iced cream ( thank gawd that one passed!), fish-sticks and any vegetarian thai dish/soup with tofu. I went back to my vegetarian ways for a long time only now wanting meat here and there.
-Can't cook fish in the house, no way, no how. This sucks because we are trying to use up the salmon and sturgeon that Jordan caught last year on his fishing trips! Ugh!
-I buy snack foods that sound good at the time, but never get into them. Jordan is finding he's getting a lot more snack crackers than ever before.
-Jordan puts on his cologne outside. I don't use it much anymore.
-I must have juice. I dilute it and find it just as good, and it has to be 100% juice, but still, I never bought the stuff before so that's been weird. (cranberry, concord, and pomegranate. , YUM) A little bit goes a LONG way.
-I don't want water unless it has about a half a lemon or lime in it.
-I can't do Pilates anymore because lying on my stomach feels too odd and wrong and a lot of those abdominal exercises are contraindicated. DARN!
-I had to leave the democratic caucus early because the smell of people breathing made me sick. It smelled like teenage boy funk. Hey, at least I got to sign in!
-All my pants still fit, but it is more comfortable at this point to wear the pregger pants as they fit well in the leg and allow a sweatpant like feeling in my lower abs, and hey, that's comforting!
-No baby bump yet, but am readily waiting to have something to rub like Dixee Anne has! Lucky bump!

See ya'll later!
