I've got a little coif!

Here are a few things I've done this week being home and being crafty.
I'm supposed to be finishing up the paint job on our bedroom and master bathroom. But...I felt like knitting instead of really going at our paint jobs, and look at my little hats ( called coifs in the book I was working from ). Jordan graciously did the finishing paint work one energetic evening (while I was out at a knitting club relaxing with some sweet friends of mine...Jordan told me to go..I swear!) and our bathroom is almost done, done done! YAY!!! We are so excited to spring this house out of the 70s!

Sooner...or later...I should have posts about our recent home remodeling stuff we've been up to. I didn't remember to take "before" pictures, so you'll have to rely on memories or past posted pictures. Once we add trim work to the bedroom, and moulding to the ceiling in the bedroom and bathroom we'll be pretty close. We were looking at re-grouting the bathroom floor tiles because the previous owners used a 1/2 inch grout line and then never sealed the light tan grout and it's since stained and impossible to clean. BUT, we found grout paint. So, this week, I'm on acid...I mean..I'm using acid on the grout to clean clean clean, then I'm painting it all a color called Pewter and sealing the s@#$ out of it. This should look nice with the large white tiles on the floor. I'll show ya'll how it ends up and if I recommend the product one bit. OK, so once that is all done, then we're onto new closet doors, OR, hanging fabric? I tried to paint the doors we have, but I hate them...all those slats in the bifold...I just hate them. The tracks are all f@#$ed up too, so I'm not even motivated to go that far. New doors would be easiest...fabric would have more character. Neither option really saves any money.

ooOooo..and I'm also showing off my new haircut~~ Cute waves my daddy gave me, no?

Thanks everyone for a wonderful birthday week, I've had a lot of fun with my friends and family. Happy Birthday brother John and best gal-pal, Tracy, Oh, and my dog Jack too( can't believe he's SEVEN!)! I love Virgos! WOO HOO! Just what will this year bring to this 33 year old??? Ahh...a girl can dream. (right now, I'm just dreaming that the bedroom and bathroom are finished up by the time Mom and Dad arrive...but I'm thinking there will be some work to be done since it's only a few days.) Dad, perhaps we can work on a burnpile together?

Off to fight the good fight.
Ciao!

It all went to pot

Here I am with my new sister-in-law, Dixxee Ann! That's right, Matt's a married man and I LOVE who he chose as a bride. Beautiful Dixee Dixee.

Here we are showing off our painted pottery that we did in Astoria a few weekends ago. I painted a coffee mug and a sushi plate. Dixee painted a dish for her nursery and a photo frame for her new hubby. She's so scrapbooky crafty!

Dix, it was so fun to craft around with you! Thank you Mom for picking up the finished goods for us and for taking us to high tea!!! Such a girly time.

A summertime party for Gramma M!

Gramma Matthiesen had her birthday over Mother's Day weekend, so I put together some collages of the goings ons. The one collage with the grandparents has some items that make us really think of their home and the many parties we've enjoyed there.

This first one of Becca also includes her trying on a knit hat that brother Matt so lovingly created at my folks house. I think it looks fun with these others.

I also love the last collage of the boys being goofy.

Blog posts..who can keep up? Happy 4th of July in September!

Alrighty Dixee, here are the 4th of July pictures! I'm sorry I couldn't make it to this party, it looks like fun. There was jet skiing, and fireworks and a barbeque...let alone, a bbq that Grandpa Nelson did up, so I know it was good. I couldn't find the picture you were talking about, but feel free when you come up this week to look through what I've got.

I'm trying to put together a slideshow of the trip to Victoria too..so check back and lets see if Lori can get her butt in gear!
