Portland Bridges

We went to Portland Oregon last weekend and tried to get a good city photo. This is what Jordan came up with and I think it turned out so nice. Click on it to get th full view and if all you get is code, refresh the page. I love the fuzzy water and the reflection of the bridge. I tried altering it into a b/w photo and that turned out really cool as well. We can't wait to try some more night shots. I took some shots, but really didn't feel any of them were worthy of sharing. Some more shots will happen soon so we'll be sure to share.

On another note, Jordan's car isn't working as of two days ago. So many repairs are needed that we're going to donate it to a worthy cause. We are looking at getting a new or used car at this point and he's commuting to work by bus.

Jordan is one that can better make up his mind with the most amount of information given to him, so he's doing the research now...Well....not now, but when he's off work...but not tonight because we're going dancing.... ;)

Anyway, back to the bus situation...you may ask why not just commute by bus then? Evidently, we're not able to find a bus service that leaves monroe and feeds directly or even indirectly to Bellevue. There are buses that leave Monroe, but the last one goes out at 7am. It's a little unrealistic for his work schedule to work until 7 each night and go in that early. Right now, he can drive halfway ( Bothel ) and then bus in and back. This bus schedule is frustrating when Washington is such a commuter friendly state. I mean, hell...you can get a bus in Battleground WA to Beaverton OR if you can transfer...this should just as easy up here. I think commuting will improve as our area ( sadly ) grows.

Okay, I must get ready for work. ciao!

Say Cheese!

This week was really full of work work work, so we decided to play a LOT this weekend. It was an easy incentive since one of Jordan's brothers, Matt, came up to visit. We went into Seattle on Friday night and all day Saturday late into the night. Saturday at Pike's market, there was a Cheese Festival, hence the photo of the title of this blog entry that Jordan took. We wore Matt's little legs off showing him the city, and then numbed his backside on lots of road trips around the city. Pike's marketplace is a fantastic place to enjoy loads of entertainment. Its hard not to stay with the moving crowd so that you can just stop and listen to one piano player, one guitar player after another, one barbershop quartet, or watch magic shows, or a set of people painted silver and setting motionless like mechanical puppet and puppet master until all at once they will both go into a song as if the puppet master is moving his character. We were delighted with all this wonderful entertainment on this warm crowded Saturday at the market. With the cheese festival was also a wine tasting tent, so it was great to get some tasty treats along the way. Jordan got me some fresh flowers as the roses he got me the week earlier have begun to wilt. He likes to make sure that we keep flowers on a pretty consistent basis. Thanks babe! All of the fresh foods available on display at this market to take home really make one want to go home and prepare something delicious and colorful and fresh. Since we knew that we'd be in the city for a while still, we couldn't get anything that would soon spoil. We'll be back though!
Saturday, we ended the day driving around to someplace called Fisherman's Terminal to check out a place that we think we'd like to go swing dancing. It's a bunch of piers with fishing boats, sailing vessels and yachts. We dined at their crowded fine dining restaurant watching yachts take off with prom dates, and chartered boats leaving port for a fun filled evening on the water. We longed to be on the boats with them, but were content to head back into the city for some night lights. The pub where they have live music and dancing looked fine enough to return to. Lots of close parking and the scenery around there is nice.

Okay, anyway, here are some photos of what we did, what we saw and where we were and what we did about what we saw where we were. Enjoy!

Home Run Picnic

This past weekend, Jordan and I got to go play with our new friends, Micah, Michelle and Tiffany. The background is that Michelle and I work together, and I replaced Tiffany at work, as she left for a more lucrative career. She's also in Massage school right now! Go Tiffany! Micah is Michelle's husband of two years, though they've been together for ten and known each other for like fourteen years! This is fairly similar to our friends, the Collins'.
Micah and his brothers all play wiffle ball on their parents field. They were nice enough to invite us over to play and these are some shots of the day. Jordan hit two home-runs, let alone the base hits. The guys all keep stats, so it will be neat to see how that goes over time. We're ready to go play again. Michelle and I rested on the side lines with Tiffany (seen in a photo down below together)and later, Michelle's sister Nicki. Michelle and I both brought snacks and wine. It was a yummy picnic and great to relax and get to know one another better. The little pup is Odin, Tiffany's new pet. He's all of 12 or 16 weeks old and ADORABLE. He ran the field and cracked us all up. There's only one shot of the photographer, ah well...probably a good thing that day. You gets what you gets! Enjoy!

By the way, we all think that Micah and Jordan could pass for brothers they look so similar!

I really like this shot of Nicki helping her sister Michelle stand up. Sister helping sister. The long arm on the left, is Nicki, the younger sister. The other, Michelle. The roles switch throughout life, as one sister helps another but in this case, it's mostly Michelle that needed the help. I really like this shot.

Ciao!
